Parking was a huge issue for us and I left the property a day early due to no heating but also getting a parking ticket or being clamped where I was parked as no one moved from the spaces occupied and I was concerned parking elsewhere also put my car in a vulnerable position if it got damaged or broken into on an industrial estate up the road. Heating didn't work even though we read through instructions so we thought we would default to the wood burner but there wasn't any kindling or wood at the property. I was told by the owners daughter after my holiday that they don't leave wood as anyone could use it and cause a fire?. We looked everywhere for an information folder which wasn't left out for us but this contained limited information in it and nothing about using the wood burner. The stairs were very steep and no banister so my elderly mum slept downstairs on the settee. The door knob came off in her hand when she opened the door to the stairs. The parking is advertised as first come first serve but no one moved so we didnt stand a chance. I phoned Sykes to report the heating but to say we were leaving a day early as the property would be empty. When I explained this the owners daughter said we had " high tailed it out of the property".... this was not the case it was uncomfortable without heating and we left at 10.30am after packing the car and I did let the owner know we were leaving also. I've been told that the owner won't give us any money back and the owners daughter said it's all down to sykes and the case is CLOSED.. NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE.

Cottage is as described, comfortable and clean. Good location for visiting local areas. Swimming pool and nice park virtually opposite. The cottage is situated on a very busy road with heavy traffic, although surprisingly once you are inside the noise didn’t really bother us at all. The bedrooms however could benefit from black out blinds or curtains as the rooms were very bright come 6am. The stairs were steep as described in the write up but again we got used to them pretty quickly. Would like to have had a SMART tv to watch NETFLIX as the freeview channels are quite limited, although there were plenty of DVD’s provided, the ones we chose were unfortunately empty. Would also have liked to see even a basic first aid kit as we had a small accident which required a plaster late at night once the local shops had closed. Overall we had a lovely stay, neighbours were friendly and the children loved their comfy beds.
