Ideal for 2 people and well situated for Dartmoor and beautiful countryside, the Granite Trail cycleway, Lydford Gorge (check its open first as the National Trust closed it due to high winds) and towns like Tavistock which has a lot of history and very good museum plus the excellent panier market. It's easily reached as near to the main A30 which makes visiting areas further afield quick and easy. There are also good pubs nearby and excellent home made pasties at Lydford Farm Shop. Little Fern was very well appointed with everything we needed including hot water bottles as well as electric heating! There was a bike shed and outside lighting along our private entrance. There was a vase if fresh flowers and a delicious home made cake plus tea, coffee and milk waiting for us on arrival. Although small it was perfect for us and very comfortable. We felt safe and snug inside.

Little fern is a gateway to so many amazing walks, with access to the moors 3 mins in a car with plenty of free parking, And the granite way cycle path with the cycle hub cafe open all year for coffee cake and homemade pizza. We spent 2 wks with our small dog at Little fern, its brilliantly equipped and cosy. We have walked many miles as so much to see in the local area. Beautiful Lydford gorge is just a short drive, its also 5 mins from meldon viaduct and reservoir. 5 mins drive to the highwayman inn pub at Sourton (google this pub!) A short drive to Oakhampton with large Waitrose and Lidl. And 20 mins to Tavistock with tons cafes Deli,s Tearooms shops, riverside walks large park with access to wonderful whitchurch downs and burrator and cadover bridge all glorious for walking with great views. Highly recomend for 2 people and small dog
