About this property

Holly Bush is set in the rural hamlet of Folly Gate just 5 minutes drive from Okehampton, and perfect for anyone wishing to explore West Devon and Cornwall, and especially for discovering the spectacular Dartmoor National Park, Known as the “gateway to Dartmoor” Okehampton is an old market town with a good selection of shops, including Waitrose, Lidl and Co-op supermarkets. Surrounded by farms and woodlands, and with a traditional old pub, Folly Gate provides easy access to the road network of West Devon and Cornwall, giving plenty of scope to explore further afield. To the south is Tavistock, a world heritage site, and the “ocean city” of Plymouth, with so much to see including museums, galleries and an exciting waterfront. Going north and west from Folly Gate is historic Launceston, the only walled town in Cornwall, and Bude on Cornwall’s Atlantic coast. Exeter is 25 miles to the east and served by a rail link from Okehampton (38 minutes). The property is within easy access from the Midlands and the South of England. Holly Bush is part of a small development of 5 detached houses, completed in 2021, with parking for 2 cars and a private, sunny west facing garden and patio. It has a lovely bright “atmosphere” created by the many windows letting in the clear light from the Devon skies, with stunning views ablaze with a kaleidoscope of colours every evening (almost!). The spacious sitting room has 2 sofas, TV and wood burning stove, and has windows front and rear, and double doors to the patio. The streamlined modern kitchen is well equipped and opens out into a dining area overlooking the garden. There are 2 double bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room, and a family bathroom. The third bedroom is retained by the owner for storage purposes. Perfect for a family break at any time of year, choose Holly Bush.

Okehampton is a bustling market town on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park, among the moor's tallest and most spectacular peaks, such as Yes Tor, which climbs to almost 2000 feet. Small agricultural settlements lie between forests and fields with abundance of softly running rivers to the north of Okehampton in the magnificent undulating Devon hills. The marvellous Roadford Reservoir provides a wide range of watersports and fishing options.
