Chapel Cottage is a charming and cosy property with comfortable beds and sofas, well-equipped kitchen, and a convenient location for walking on the moors and visiting local pubs. Guests appreciate the character of the cottage and its suitability for a peaceful stay, with some minor maintenance issues noted.
The cottage is generally clean with fresh linen and towels provided. There are isolated comments about crumbs in the fridge and items under furniture, suggesting room for improvement, but overall the cleanliness is well-regarded.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to walking trails, a great pub, and the tranquil village atmosphere. Its position on the edge of Dartmoor and the availability of a nearby farm shop add to its appeal.
Guests find the mattresses and sofas very comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. However, some noted squeaky bed bases and small towels, slightly detracting from the overall comfort experience.
The cottage is well-equipped and guests are generally satisfied with the amenities. However, there are several maintenance issues mentioned, such as squeaky bed bases, door difficulties, loose curtain poles, and water pressure problems that need addressing.
The provision of a welcome pack and throws on the sofas are appreciated touches, although some guests found the welcome pack a bit meagre. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

A beautiful, characterful cottage on the edge of Dartmoor in a charming village. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need, including sundries like tea and coffee. The beds were very comfortable and the open fire magical on the cold nights. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return.

The good:1 - Mattresses really comfy.2 - Sofas really comfy.3 - Kitchen well equipped.4 - Very handy for walking on the moors.5 - Great pub nearby. The not so good:1 - Bed bases in 2 bed bedroom very squeaky, probably need tightening up.2 - Front door maybe swollen so difficult to open/close.3 - Bolts on back door very difficult to slide open/close.4 - Water pressure in bathroom tap very poor.5 - Curtain pole in 2 bedded room is loose, difficult to pull curtains unless with extreme care.6 - Towels on the small side.7 - Welcome pack of 1 pint of milk for 4 people and a few biscuits felt a bit meagre.8 - Mats downstairs were not secured so slipped around.9 - Five bar gate needs attention.
