Guests say

Southlake Barn in Yelverton is highly praised for its cleanliness, thoughtful touches, and prime location for nature walks. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, cosy wood burner, and the welcoming hosts. The property offers a peaceful stay with beautiful views and local wildlife, making it a recommended choice for both families and pet owners.

Guests consistently mention the spotless condition of the barn, highlighting its cleanliness as a significant positive aspect of their stay.

The barn's proximity to Dartmoor and local amenities, as well as the availability of scenic walks straight from the property, are frequently commended, indicating a highly desirable location.

While comfort levels are generally rated highly, with particular praise for the beds and cosy atmosphere, one review notes the bathroom's narrowness, slightly impacting the overall comfort score.

Facilities are described as fully equipped, well-maintained, and thoughtfully styled. The wood burner and balcony are especially appreciated, although one mention of a tight shower space and slippery floors for pets slightly affects the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through mentions of welcome packs and gifts such as homemade jam, bread, and treats for pets. However, it's important to note that such gifts, while delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Excellent location for exploring Dartmoor and surrounding area. Kitchen well equipped. Nice touches on arrival re flowers, cake and milk. Good supply of logs for wood burner which was greatly appreciated as a supplement means of heating and gave that "comfy" feel. Bathroom a little chilly. Track to property worn in places so take care and drive slowly. Overall, excellent accomodation and we had a lovely stay despite the weather!

I met Mel on my arrival, she was very welcoming and told me of some nearby places I could visit. The property was very well presented, clean throughout. Mel had left a nice fresh loaf of bread and some milk. She even popped round with some swirls pastries from the bakery which she worked at (which was a very unexpected nice surprise). The log fire was brilliant after a wet walk on the moors. I would definitely recommend the property to friends. I would like to visit with better weather to fully enjoy walking on the moors.

Beautifully clean and thoughtfully presented. Wood burner is great, as are the views from the balcony. Really peaceful, wildlife all around. Owner was really friendly and helpful. Fresh bread, and homemade jam, pint of milk and flowers provided. Instruction book thought of everything. I cannot fault this place and highly recommend. Burrator reservoir is close by and has many wonderful walks. This whole part of Dartmoor is stunning, even in January. The road from Dousland to Princetown is one of my favourites in the whole moor.
