This historic building dates from the 1820’s and was originally a working forge. The pretty, detached, single story, barn conversion has been sympathetically converted and retains many original features with natural stone walls, exposed beamed ceilings and high quality furnishings. A character property with a spacious interior. Nestled within glorious countryside in the delightful hamlet of Quoditch near Ashwater in Devon, this delightful cottage is the ideal choice to unwind and recharge your batteries. All on one level, the light and airy open plan living area has a well-equipped kitchen and sofas surrounding a cosy wood burner. Outside, there is an enclosed patio area, complete with garden seating to enjoy a lazy breakfast while you plan your day. Ashwater has a really good pub and for those wishing to explore, Meadowside Forge could not be more centrally located for visiting the Eden Project one day and Bude or Widemouth Bay the next.
Just 17 miles from the breathtaking North Cornish coast and many dog friendly beaches, with excellent surfing, pretty coves and dramatic coastal walks along with shopping, leisure facilities, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Holsworthy, 8 miles, has a good selection of local shops and supermarkets along with a weekly market. The market town of Okehampton and Launceston with its historic castle are a short drive away. Coastal and country walking, golf, surfing, fishing, horse riding and cycling are all on offer close by and Dartmoor National Park is a must for nature lovers. The property is close to the water sports centre at Roadford Lake, where sailing dinghies, kayaks and wind-surfers can be hired. Beach 17 miles. Shop 8 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Meadowside Forge is simply stunning. It has everything you possibly need for a few days or longer right down to everything your dog could want! It is very quiet, the enclosed garden is bigger than the photos show. Plenty of parking off road. Bath and shower!We had a wonderful stay and the owners were super friendly and available for any questions or for recommendations where to visit.It's a good location to hideaway from the crowds so to get anywhere, you need to drive or cycle.Whether you're a family of 4 or a couple - this little gem has everything you need and much more! Even games to entertain the kids! We made good use of the log burner, too! So cosy on those cold early spring evenings.

We had such an amazing time at Meadowside Forge. We came back totally relaxed. Tash and Mikey have created an idyllic home from home. We loved all the little touches ( welcome packs for humans and dogs! ) and our two rescue hounds have never been so chilled out. We visited Widemouth bay, Bude and Crackington Haven to complete a 2.5 mile walk overlooking the sea. Absolutely incredible views. Each day ended with a drink ( or two) and a real fire back at the Forge. We didn’t want to come home. Book now!
