Discover a traditional stone inglenook fireplace in the heart of the sitting room, with a woodburning stove set in the centre for warming winter evenings, and an array of soft seating to relax on following a busy day, as well as a Smart TV to keep all entertained. From here take a few steps up into the kitchen to find stylish fitted units and subway tiling housing a host of excellent appliances, including a handy dishwasher. Make some drinks and snacks in here on a summer evening and take them outside into the enclosed courtyard to unwind in the last of the sun at the pretty bistro set. Once the sun has set, head upstairs to find your elegant sleeping spot, comprising a king-size with a decorative fireplace, a single room with thoughtful decoration and a twin room boasting a built in wardrobe, each adorned with quality linens and furnishings. Enjoy being just a short walk from the closest shop and pubs in the delightful village of Winkleigh, notable for being voted the 'best place to raise a family in the UK' in recent years, you can feel the community spirit for yourself as you meander the streets and browse the local businesses. Venture down to the fringes of the Dartmoor National Park to the town of Okehampton to see the medieval ruins of Okehampton Castle, take walks along the River Okement, and sample delicious food from one of the cafés or restaurants here. Head further into Dartmoor to find an array of diverting attractions, including the National Trust's impressive Castle Drogo built in the 1930s in a medieval style with turrets, gardens and a lovely café, or admire the sculptures in Stone Lane Gardens. The Dartmoor National Park is excellent for walking and is home to a number of tors, with Yes Tor being a popular choice for hiking and offering fantastic views over the landscape. Visit Cornwall's northern coast at Bude where you'll discover a great selection of sandy beaches for surfing, swimming and sunbathing, from Summerleaze Beach in the heart of Bude with the Bude Sea Pool, to Widemouth Bay further south or Sandymouth Bay up north. Spend an afternoon having fun at the War Horse Valley Country Farm Park, home to horses, alpacas, pigs and sheeps among the residents, with a farm trail to walk, tractor rides to enjoy and a wealth of history to learn about too! Winkleigh is a wonderful little village resting in the heart of the Devonshire countryside. Explore the beautiful open tors of Dartmoor for fantastic walking opportunities, as well as Exmoor and beautiful beaches being within driving distance too. With access to Torrington and Exeter as well, there's plenty to explore around Winkleigh.
