The kitchen has all the amenities you could possibly need. Comfortable large sofa and log burner. Although this is a lovely property there are a few things that could be improved. On arriving the house was cold but unable to start a fire as no kindling had been left for us. This is usually something owners provide get one going the first night you arrive. It should be noted that dogs are not allowed on the furniture (dont know why people say dog friendly?) I completely understand the not upstairs part but not allowed on the sofa?! Anyway to finish off the issue was the water pressure. Now only informed on reading this in the book that it could fluctuate not beforehand we had terrible issues to the point you couldn't even wash as it was flowing out the tap as a trickle. Although once informing the owner we had an issue and it was fixed we were already pretty much coming home. I feel some sort of compensation should have been offered as we were having to fill the bath up from downstairs. We got lucky our dog didn't need a wash! Also there was a lot of hair (human and dog) in the bedroom bedding as well. For this reason we wouldn't stay again.

Perfect cottage for a quiet and relaxing getaway and the dogs loved it. Everything we could possibly need, very well equipped! Actually preferred not having wi-fi as gave us a real break from work emails :) loved the local area and visited Bude, and Lydford Gorge. Perfect weather too which was lovely. Would highly recommend for a couples get away. The cottage is done out to a very high standard and is very cosy and comfortable. The log burner was divine and made the cold clear nights warm and homely-logs and kindling supplied which was a nice touch. Found some lovely walks nearby and as a runner some lovely, if hilly routes that really take in the views. 5* all round. The only thing we commented on was that to just finish it off perfectly it would be nice to have some photos or pictures downstairs, may e of the local area/scenery to just finish it off, but cannot fault the cottage in any way and this did not detract from our enjoyment of our stay.

An issue with the TV having no signal the first night but this was rectified very quickly which I was grateful for. A great location to explore Devon and Cornwall and nice and quiet for my 2 dogs. I would only suggest a floor lamp by the sofa so the main lights can be turned off to make even more relaxing. I will be returning for sure next year, it was one of the best places I’ve stayed in.
