The wildlife enthusiasts in your party are well-catered for with Dawlish’s famous Black Swans and wildfowl that can be spotted along the Dawlish Water whilst enjoying a leisurely walk. Be sure to visit the Dawlish Town Beach, a mix of sand and shingle, where you can bathe on the sands and paddle the shores, before treating your loved ones to a well-deserved drink at The Cove Cafe or Marine Tavern. Other attractions within the town include the small Dawlish Museum, Safari Adventure Golf, Coryton Cove and an amusement centre. The sea front extends to the neighbouring resort of Dawlish Warren, where keen walkers can soak the breath-taking views along the Langstone Cliffs Walking Trail, whilst others can test out their swing at the Warren Golf Club, spend a day at Dawlish Warren Beach or enjoy the delights of Funder Park. Teignmouth is easily reached, with its Grand Pier, Pavilions Teignmouth and the Teign Heritage Museum, or why not hop aboard the train at Dawlish to visit the city of Exeter with its imposing cathedral and Royal Albert Memorial Museum? All this and more awaits with a stay at Clarendon House

On the southern shore, this is a lovely coastal village. Dawlish has all you need for a comfortable day-to-day existence, such as a wide range of stores, restaurants, and cafés, as well as a small cinema. The Dawlish River is renowned for its Black Swans and other wildfowl that live there. Strings of colourful lights decorate the central town park's waterway, which flows to the sea, at night in the summer. Dawlish has a sandy beach and a neighbouring crazy golf course, making it ideal for a family vacation. If you're feeling very energetic, you can walk along the sea wall to get to Dawlish Warren, which is up the coast. The steps inside the residence , could be equalised a lot better for easier access for the elderly. Also , we lost one night`s rest through bad alarm maintenance .

A nice Sony TV, an assorted collection of DVDs, for all ages, comfortable sofas, and armchairs, made the evenings enjoyable ! The front windows, facing the balcony, are in need of a little planning, to enable them to be fully closed, it was difficult to engage the catches, which eventually will become detached, and are very draughty ! The electrical socket, in the middle bedroom, supplying power to the 'Wi-Fi', is loose on the wall, and the other, in the 'Dining Room', although secure to the wall, is missing a screw, to the 'Front Plate', making it loose, also, when operating the 'Glen' heater, the plug becomes hot ! These issues aside, we had a very happy time at 'Clarendon House', a mixture of, old rustic charm, with modern facilities ! Had the weather been warmer, evenings could have been spent, on the balcony, fully enjoying the setting sun ! But hey, one can't book the weather ! We would consider, booking again !
