Little Scypen is a small single-storey cottage converted from a cow barn joined to the owner’s house on the fringes of Ringmore. Close to the good food pub and church, this is homely and neat accommodation for enjoying a lovely area. You have a simple and comfortable open plan living space with handmade furniture, pretty watercolours and attractive views. Off this are the two bedrooms, a double and a room with bunks which can convert to a single to make more space, plus a couple of steps down to the family bathroom. The outside is charming and idyllic, surrounded by the owner’s lovely garden full of flowers and exotic plants and the green fingered owner is happy to give you a tour if you like.

You have your own little sunny patio for sitting out, equipped with seats and a barbecue for evening drinks and suppers. Being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a cottage for walking and soaking up the amazing scenery. You can follow a ¾ mile footpath to National Trust Ayrmer Cove, a pretty little beach, and to the Coast Path plus lots of other lovely country walks from the door of the cottage. The River Erme estuary is also picturesque and scenic. Coming back to lunch or supper at the friendly inn is a real treat, or head out for the freshest local catch at the excellent seafood restaurant a couple of miles away.

For sand and surf fans, Bigbury-on-Sea and Challaborough offer outstanding beaches and good waves. For coastal relaxation, Little Scypen is in the perfect position.

Ringmore is a small village in Devon, in the South Devon aonb, one mile from the secluded beach and stunning cliffs of Bigbury Bay. The Saxon church of All Hallows stands majestically overlooking this quintessentially English village with thatched cottages and a peaceful rural pace of life.
