… 500 yards from the centre of Chillington, beside a peaceful country lane, a lovely, detached, 16th cent. house with south-facing verandah, patio and delightful, good-sized enclosed garden (flowers, lawn, picnic table, barbecue, fenced stream, small woodland area, magnificent wisteria). It overlooks its own 2 acre field. Games/play room (table football, toys).
Inside, very much a home - prettily decorated/furnished (paintings, ornaments), light and spacious. Big, bay-windowed, flagstoned fitted kitchen/breakfast room (dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, larder fridge) with Rayburn (lit November to end of March) and French windows to patio; utility room (washing machine, tumble drier, freezer, additional fridge); loo; centre-of-house room with refectory dining table, beamed fireplace (woodburner), sofas, chest of toys, door to garden; drawing room (woodburner, TV/DVD/video) with French windows to verandah. Steep stairs (handrail, stairgate) up to four bedrooms – a double (5' four-poster) with balcony and en suite bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus hand-shower, bidet); a single (washbasin); a room with two singles (washbasin, limited clothes-hanging space), and a room with double (5' contemporary four-poster) and single bed.
