While the impressive, traditional structure of Vine House remains, the interior underwent extensive refurbishment in the early 2000’s with the aim to transform the house into a luxurious home. Today, Vine House is one of the most popular holiday homes in Salcombe, and guests return time and time again to take advantage of its prime location and picturesque setting.
Surrounded by a blanket of gorgeous greenery, the main house is a sight to behold. But this is just the beginning. Step inside and explore the delights that feature inside Vine House: a vast open plan kitchen equipped with top-of-the-range appliances, 3 large bedrooms combining comfort and style and a grand living area with captivating creekside views bursting through the glass patio doors.
The Boat House contains separate guest accommodation: a quaint cottages that combines traditional charm with contemporary chic.
Make use of the spacious kitchen to prepare a delicious meal, or have one of the well-renowned private chefs to cook up a feast for all the family. When the sun is shining, we recommend enjoying your meal in the private courtyard outside, where climbing plants decorate the steep walls and a shell-shaped fountain streams cooling water. In the courtyard, you will notice a small stone staircase leading up towards the roof: follow these steps and find yourself on a hidden sun deck, ideal for lounging in the Salcombe sun.

Needless to say, my wife Joy & I had a wonderful 4 night stay this past week at my old childhood summer holiday home that was magical to me back in the 60s-70s .. and it still doesn’t disappoint! Salcombe has changed just like Vine House has, but memories don’t. When my two sisters and I sold ‘Vine’ in 2005 because of my Aunts passing, we were very sad to give it up. However, this past sentimental holiday week at Vine, although a bit emotional for me, impressed at every turn as to how comfortable the house is now for guests and the thoughtfulness evident given all the wonderful renovation updating and professional seaside decor.

I rate it a ‘5+’ without hesitation. Again, thank you for the opportunity to stay in my childhood home now that I’m 73 yrs old … ha ha. I would definitely like to return again in the future given my intimate background with Vine House and trust your favourable consideration. Thank you.
