There is an additional shower room on the first floor. The attic room boasts a snug sitting area, with TV/DVD/Playstation unit. Outside, steps rise through a front garden with a sloping lawn to a luxuriously furnished wraparound sun terrace, providing plenty of space for relaxing. The rear terrace is sheltered by fencing and woodland.

Salcombe is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts, walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea. There are several pretty beaches within a short distance, including North Sands and South Sands, plus the coves East Portlemouth on the opposite side of the estuary, just a short passenger ferry ride away. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, coasteering, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe, take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking on the South West Coast path.

The only negative would be the ovens and cooking facilities - an instruction manual would have been very much appreciated - as with the TV in the lounge. The TV in the bathroom of the Master bedroom didn't seem to work but this wasn't a problem for us but could be for some people.

Wonderful views and well equipped but could do with another medium sized saucepan and a pair of kitchen scissors. Also there were no black bags for dirty linen.Fortunately I had brought some. Generally it was fabulous and I will miss the main bedroom! However if it was my house I would take all the doors off of the wardrobes in the dressing area and have an electric power point in the dressing room.

Our 7th visit. Still hugely disappointing to have to buy dishwasher tablets, bin liners, loo rolls, have no milk on arrival and have to strip beds on departure, when staying in such a high end property.
