About this property

Set above Salcombe in a quiet residential area, yet only 10 minutes’ walk from the town's shops, restaurants and quayside, Harbourfield offers pleasant views from the decking and some of the bedrooms across the town towards Batson Creek, as well as off-road parking for one large or two small cars.

Providing exceptional accommodation for a family, this spacious holiday home has a light and sunny lounge, and a beautiful kitchen/dining room, complete with a 2-oven Aga… perfect for those chilly winter days! The property sleeps up to eight people, in four bedrooms. Three are on the first floor (two have double beds – one with an en suite - and one has a single bed), along with a family bathroom. On the second floor is a fourth bedroom, perfectly designed for children. With full-size bunk beds and an additional 3' single bed, plus a TV. This very special room is a wonderful area for the youngsters in the party to congregate!

Another fantastic facility is the full size table tennis table available for guests’ use in the garage, accessed from the hallway. Why not have a tournament to see which family member is the most skilled?

Outside there is a lower decking area with table and chairs and small sunny front garden with seat. There is also a further upper decking area with table and chairs and countryside views. Off-road parking for one car (garage also available by request).

This fantastic property is exceptionally well-prepared for families looking for quiet accommodation within easy reach of Salcombe’s beaches.

Salcombe is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts, walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea. There are several pretty beaches within a short distance, including North Sands and South Sands, plus the coves East Portlemouth on the opposite side of the estuary, just a short passenger ferry ride away. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, coasteering, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe, take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking on the South West Coast path.

Bed in back room ( en suite room) v uncomfortable. No sharp knives in kitchen and matches for BBQ ( not a problem as we got matches) but still… Lots of books and leaflets but all were very old… ( leaflets dated back to 2016) could be more up to date. The property listing did state only a washing machine so no dryer, but for a property with 8 beds near a beach, with low evening temps, beach towels didn’t dry off. Really felt this property would benefit from a dryer! Great table tennis in the garage. Beautiful pictures and sea/ beach themed art. Overall we had a wonderful holiday and my comments are 1st world problems- granted. I don’t like moaning but for a property costing £2063.00, I would have thought these issues would be addressed and facilities provided! We have booked next year for another property so fingers crossed.

Would liked to have been opera few more windows but couldn’t find window lock keys. We watered pot plants that were dried out. Everyone should be asked to. We would love to return. Beautifully quiet and view to Btson creek
