Across the lane, small front garden with boat house for secure storage of your beach/boating/watersports gear, and a few uneven steps down to little paved area above the foreshore (space for deckchairs or storing small dinghy/canoes - bring your own or hire locally). Larger sloping back garden climbs behind the cottage with steps up to suntrap terraces (table/chairs, bench, village views) on two levels. Direct access to the Coast Path.
Inside, spacious and comfortable with cottage furnishings, a few beams and knobbly walls. Steps up to stable doors to porch; flagstone-floored lobby/boot room with step up to good-sized living room (TV/DVD) with electric flame-effect fire and large table at one end; utility room (washing machine, tumble drier). Upstairs, lofty, light-filled kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, freezer) with door to garden, and three bedrooms – a double (6’ bed) with en suite bathroom (suite, wardrobe on landing), and two twin (limited clothes-hanging space), one with en suite shower-room (suite, second door to kitchen). Pets permitted in boot room/kitchen only. No children under 4, except pre-crawling babies. Arrival after 4pm. Great location with tennis, woodland, waterside and two child-friendly, good food pubs within 200 yards.

"We had a peaceful week at lovely Porthole Cottage. A great location in a friendly village. Lovely lunch at the nearby tea shop - only open Sat and Sun though. A great circular walk of 4 miles from the doorstep around the headland is unmissable - amazing views from Coast path and carpets of bluebells. Ending with a meal at The Ship Inn! Although only an hour away from home we really felt as though we were "away on holiday" and friends and family who visited us enjoyed Porthole Cottage too."

"Tremendous location! We made full use of the table and bench on Noss Creek, and up the garden (though we were not in that often!). Please tell the owners that it was fairly easy for me to park my trailer (trolley wheel at the front over the first wall) in the useful car parking space and still park our VW transporter (Old Volvo estate size on the road) next to it. I was able to pull up my tender on the creek at the bottom on their steps, transom got a little wet since it was spring tides, but it was fine. Lovely big room at the back which caught the sunshine. We know the area and find the ease of walking or getting on the water great. Last day swim at the end of the season Plymouth Lido!"
