Malborough is a beautiful small village nestled in the South Hams in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only a stone’s throw (2 miles) from the holiday town of Salcombe and a handful of sandy beaches including North Sands, South Sands, Soar Mill Cove, Hope Cove, Thurlstone and South Milton.
Upper Forge is equally perfectly located for easy access to the South West Coast Path which offers fantastic coastal walks with stunning views over the rolling countryside and coast alike.
The village of Malborough itself has two pubs, which serve food. There is also a B&B which serves breakfast and holds tapas nights. The village has a supermarket (petrol station) and post office (with farm shop) for any amenities you may need to pick up for your stay. There are village playing fields which have tennis courts, a football pitch as well as a children’s playground and outside gym.
There’s also a cycle/footpath from Malbrough to Salcombe which has some stunning views of the surrounding countryside and can be found on the Sustrans cycle network.
Parking is available at the public car park located at the village hall or outside the post office a short walk from the property, both free of charge. There is also on road parking available in much of the village. Once parked, Upper Forge is accessed via the front door which opens onto a staircase which leads up to the first floor.

The accommodation was really lovely. Spacious, large enough bedrooms and nicely located. The road outside was very busy and had no path so had to beware of through traffic which was a bit scary. The accommodation had everything you needed and had very comfortable living room furniture and large TV. It was not very overlooked (certainly not the bedrooms) and the kitchen was well appointed. Close to a great pub was a bonus (30 meters away). To be honest, a day's DIY would have made the experience a 5 star. Some of the doors needed shaving off the bottom to clear the floor as they stuck. The carpet was poor. There are good, hardwearing carpets available that are cheap. Stains and tears on many places. We did wear flipflops in the house as we didn't know what was on the carpet. A kitchen cupboard door needs tightening before it falls off. The sealant around the shower is dirty and needs replacing. There is a loose drain cover in the shower that needs fixing as it is a slip hazard and the master bedroom door does not close fully. The fridge was poor. It hardly kept food and drink cool. My 12v camping fridge does better. Also, it is in the hallway with the washing machine. It is located under the stairs any could either be enclosed in a cupboard or relocated into the kitchen. The kitchen is large enough and for passing accommodation, does not need all the cupboard space afforded. These suggestions should be taken as positive feedback as I would not like them deter from the very good accommodation that it is. A days work would make this even better.

Cold water tap in kitchen needs looking at. Faulty washer?
