About this property

2 Garden Apartment is a lovely modern, stylish and well-equipped ground-floor apartment nestled just above the quaint fishing village of Hallsands, based within the stunning Prospect House development. Ideal for couples or families, this inviting apartment enjoys shared access to the beautifully landscaped gardens, outdoor heated swimming pool and tennis court, making this an excellent choice for those looking to break away from it all and enjoy the amenities of this award-winning development. Be welcomed into the bright open plan living space featuring white oak flooring throughout and French doors to the private patio garden. The seating area houses a sofa, chairs and coffee table, large TV with Freeview and Netflix, DVD player and Sonos soundbar. The fully equipped kitchen has custom-made units and includes an electric oven with ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer and a Nespresso machine for those who’d like to bring their own pods! At either ends of the apartment are bedrooms with en-suite facilities one of which enjoys a bath with shower over, whilst the other houses a walk-in shower unit. Bedroom one features a double bed whilst the second bedroom can be configured either as two single beds or a king-size bed to suit all parties. Step outside and relax on the outdoor furniture, sipping on your morning coffee as you enjoy the rolling countryside views. Your private patio garden planted with lavender, olive trees and coastal plants, features a table and chairs and sun loungers. You can also take advantage of the communal clifftop garden to the front of the property where a dining area with benches allows you to enjoy breath taking views across the whole bay and maybe even spot seals and dolphins! Relax in the day by the pool or take advantage of the all-weather tennis court for some friendly competition. Wander down to the viewing platform which poignantly illustrates how the original village of Hallsands was reduced to rubble by the waves on a stormy night in 1917. From the front of the property, you can head in either direction along the breath-taking South West Coast Path. Less than 5 minutes’ walk takes you to the fine shingle beach at Hallsands or venture a little further to the larger seaside village of Beesands (20 minutes’ walk or a short drive) with its popular seafood café (fabulous fish and chips!) and foodie pub, The Cricket Inn, Pub of the Year in the South West Tourism Awards 2019! Further along the coast you will find two of the most popular beaches in South Devon: Slapton Sands, famous as the site for the rehearsal of the D-Day Landings and Blackpool Sands, a privately owned and maintained Blue Flag Award-winning beach backed by evergreens and scented pines. Further afield explore the quaint streets of Salcombe, Dartmouth and Kingsbridge for boutique shops, wonderful restaurants and spectacular beaches, all just a short drive away. 2 Garden Apartment is a lovely base for those looking to be placed on a dramatic stretch of the South Hams coast with wonderful facilities and easy access to South Devon’s most popular destinations

Hallsands is a quaint fishing village resting between Beesands and Start Point along the South Coast of Devon. The village stands as testament to the power of the sea and the danger of over exploiting natural resources. The sheltered South Hams Peninsula is in 'deepest Devon', an amazing landscape of flowering hedgerows and ancient sunken lanes, carved into by the richly wooded Avon and Dart Valleys. The village boasts a shingle beach, also known as Greenstraight, which is regarded as one of the quieter beaches within Start Bay, offering glorious views and excellent walks.

Views around place is amazing! Swimming pool was our favourite thing during our stay! Apartment was nice and clean, had everything essential what needed to feel like home! 100% recommended

It was quiet, comfortable, clean and well appointed in every aspect. However, we will not return and would not recommend the property due to the remoteness of the property. When we booked the apartment we had no idea that it was so remote and difficult to access due to the very narrow lanes which were more than 5 miles from the nearest A road. Travelling backwards and forwards to the property was a nightmare and especially as the hedgerows in the lanes were overgrown and in my opinion making driving dangerous. I suppose that it was my fault for not investigating how remote the property was but I also think that Sykes should have at least mentioned it in their write up.
