Rest and recharge in this safari tent on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The tent sleeps four guests and makes a fantastic couples’ retreat, as well as a great base for a small family. Surrounded by a rural landscape, you’ll have plenty of options when it comes to walking and cycling routes from the property, and you’ll also be just 10 miles from the sandy beaches and dramatic coast paths of the south coast. After a busy day, unwind with a glass of wine on the terrace to watch the sun set over the fields.

The wooden-framed tent offers spacious accommodation for friends and family. With its sociable, open-plan layout, it’s the perfect place for spending quality time together. The tent has a rustic vibe, yet has all the home comforts you would expect from a holiday home, such as charging points, power sockets, and even a cosy wood burner. Whip up tasty meals in the cleverly designed kitchen area to enjoy on the terrace, before snuggling up on the corner sofa with a good book. Sliding doors lead to a double and a bunk bedroom, and there is also a handy shower room. Outside, unwind in peaceful surroundings, sipping sundowners on the terrace, relaxing in the wood-fired hot tub, or toasting marshmallows around the firepit.

Salcombe (18 miles) makes an excellent day out. Potter around the elegant boutiques and galleries, before strolling along the sandy beach or dining in one of the wonderful cafes or restaurants. For a traditional day at the seaside, head to the family favourite of Bigbury-on-Sea (12.5 miles) where, at low tide, you can walk across to the magical Burgh Island. Nearby Buckfastleigh is a great place to pick up local produce, and is also the starting point for many popular Dartmoor walks.
