Guests say

Guests consistently praise the property for its stunning sea views, high standard of equipment, and cleanliness. The location in Bigbury-on-Sea is appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to the beach, making it ideal for walking, swimming, and enjoying the local scenery. The comfort of the beds and the quality of the furnishings are frequently mentioned, as is the thoughtful touch of a complimentary cream tea upon arrival. Some minor issues are noted, such as the firmness of mattresses and the presence of seagulls, but overall, the property receives high commendation.

The property is repeatedly described as spotlessly clean, with numerous reviews highlighting the cleanliness as a standout feature. One isolated comment mentioned finding some areas unclean, but this seems to be an exception rather than the rule.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to the beach and local amenities. The tranquillity and natural beauty of the area are major draws, although some guests mention narrow roads and potential difficulties with accessibility.

Many guests find the apartment comfortable, with special mentions of the quality beds and furnishings. However, a few guests noted the mattresses were too firm for their preference, which slightly impacts the overall comfort score.

The property is lauded for being well-equipped with modern fixtures and a well-stocked kitchen. The balcony and views are frequently appreciated. Some guests suggested improvements such as additional reading lamps and a ramp for better access, indicating room for minor enhancements.

While guests express gratitude for the complimentary cream tea, there are not enough reviews discussing other thoughtful gestures to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

This newly refurbished apartment is one of seven situated 350 yards from the splendid beach in Bigbury-on-Sea. Smart, light and comfy with a modern feel, this is brilliant accommodation for enjoying a holiday right on the coast. Step up to the entrance and into your sitting room, all comfy and bright with a handy dining area and smart new kitchen, ceiling-high glass doors you can slide open to a balcony, bringing the outside in and providing a lovely spot for evening drinks. At the end of a day enjoying the gorgeous coastline, you will sleep well in the two bedrooms, with sea views from the twin room.

Outside, as well as your excellent balcony, you have use of a shared lawn, all neat and well manicured. Wander down to the beach to walk on the sand and across to Burgh Island or perhaps a dip in the waves, maybe with a bodyboard or a surfboard which can be hired from the surf school. There is a simple little pub on the island, The Pilchard, where you can enjoy a quiet drink and contemplate the scenery which inspired Agatha Christie in some of her mysteries. For walkers, the South West Coast Path is beyond compare with amazing scenery and little coves en route.

Kingsbridge and Salcombe will provide plenty of opportunities for retail therapy, as well as excellent eateries. 3 Tarifa is a peaceful and civilised place to enjoy the sea and countryside on the doorstep.

Beautiful Bigbury-on-Sea is ideal for family holidays. Dusted with sand and lapped by shallow waters, the beach offers safe fun for children and adults alike.

Can't improve at all. Beautiful place. As we say everything was very good indeed with the apartment.

The view is outstanding, overlooking the outstanding Bigbury-on-sea beach & the bay beyond. Excellently appointed, with modern kitchen, bathroom & shower room and all "mod cons" required for a comfortable stay, including a washer/dryer & dishwasher. The private patio is delightful for dining/having a relaxing drink overlooking the sea views & equipped with sunloungers for relaxing times. Please note that there are numerous narrow roads in the surrounding area that require negotiation with care.
