We needed a little holiday after not going away for a year or two and being very busy. We were in need of a period of reflection, recuperation and relaxation and at The Chauffeur's Cottage we found the ideal haven. Heddon Valley is a stunning Tolkienesque lost Eden of rushing white water, lichen, fe.... We needed a little holiday after not going away for a year or two and being very busy. We were in need of a period of reflection, recuperation and relaxation and at The Chauffeur's Cottage we found the ideal haven. Heddon Valley is a stunning Tolkienesque lost Eden of rushing white water, lichen, ferns, moss and crooked trees. There is a stunning, easy walk from Hunters Inn to Heddon's Mouth and the sea. The coastal walks, though steep in places, are some of the most dramatic in the country. And set right in the heart of it all, a little row of Swiss style chalet cottages with such friendly and attentive hosts, that we can't wait for our return. And we won't be leaving it so long next time!

A beautiful character property in a timeless, peacefull surroundings which allowed us to both retreat from the world and seek the majesty of the local scenery to our hearts content.
