Visit Saunton Sands (10 miles), Woolacombe (6 miles) or Putsborough (9 miles) for vast sandy landscapes and waves that are perfect for surfing. Spend a day in Ilfracombe (5 miles) to visit Verity, Damien Hirst’s iconic sculpture, and catch a boat from the harbour to Lundy Island to see puffins, porpoises and maybe even dolphins.
