Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Hayloft for its cosiness, cleanliness, and beautiful garden. The cottage is well-equipped and offers a peaceful retreat with lovely views. The location is ideal for exploring Exmoor and North Devon. While the closure of the local pub is noted, the warm welcome from the hosts and the tranquil setting more than compensate.

Reviewers frequently mention the cleanliness of the Hayloft, describing it as 'beautifully clean' and appreciating the crisp bed linen. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and appeal of the cottage.

The location is highly regarded for its proximity to Exmoor, North Devon, and seaside towns. Although the village's amenities are limited due to the closure of the local pub, the surrounding beauty and convenient location for exploring the area are well-received.

Comfort is a strong point for the Hayloft, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. The effective heating system is appreciated, especially during colder weather, ensuring a snug stay.

The cottage is equipped with everything needed for a stay, including a well-maintained garden. Some guests mention the lack of a local pub and the need for a car to reach other amenities, which slightly affects the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident from the warm welcomes and the provision of a cream tea on arrival, which guests find delightful. While such gestures are greatly appreciated, it is politely noted that these are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very cosy cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable week’s holiday. Ann, the owner, greeted us on arrival and made us feel very welcome, also helped by the cream tea in the fridge! With the weather being rather cold and damp it was great to have excellent heating available in the cottage. The location is wonderful for exploring Exmoor, North Devon and much of Somerset too if you wish.

Fabulous little cottage. Comfortable, clean and cosy. Super little garden with 2 or 3 places to sit out and soak up the sun should it be shining!.Downside was that the village pub had closed and there were major road disruptions due to mains gas works but it didn't detract from the lovely surroundings. Would definitely recommend

The Hayloft was beautifully clean and comfortable with everything you could need for your stay. We met Anne on arrival and she was very helpful, the cream tea was very welcome and there was a small amount of catering packs of tea and coffee if you were unprepared. We weren’t too worried about the lack of a pub on the doorstep because we had come just to use the accommodation as a base. It is 8 years since our last visit to Exmoor, when we were based in Minehead, and we loved Ilfracombe.
