Situated in the charming village of Chulmleigh behind the facade of a former 16th-century coaching inn you will find The Coach House. Set in the owners’ wonderful garden, The Coach House has been thoughtfully and beautifully presented to provide a relaxing and memorable holiday. From the roaring wood burner in the living room to the inviting en-suite bedrooms, every small detail has been addressed to ensure the perfect stay. There is a cobbled patio overlooking the garden which is ideal for a morning coffee or some al fresco dining on a balmy summer’s evening.
Chulmleigh is a desirable hill top village with a bustling centre of shops, restaurants and pubs. The popular market town of South Molton has a weekly farmers’ market and a variety of shops, antique and curio shops, pubs and restaurants. There is an 18-hole, par 3 golf course 2 minutes’ walk from the property, and two further, large 18-hole courses can be found within a 10-minute drive. Barnstaple, 12 miles, has a theatre, cinema and leisure activities, and places of interest include the Museum of North Devon, Pannier Market, 14th-century St Anne’s Chapel and the 18th-century Queen Anne’s Walk.
Other family attractions in the area include the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor, The Big Sheep and Milky Way amusement parks, Exmoor Zoo and Dinosaur Park. Spectacular beaches at Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! are all within easy driving distance for sailing and windsurfing, and there is fishing at Tamar and Wimbleball Lakes. Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks are also worth a visit. Beach 26 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Three generations of our family really enjoyed our three night stay at The Coach House, Chulmleigh.The owners, Jane and Martin were excellent hosts,😊 very friendly and pleased to recommend local eatery local places. Superb welcome pack including homemade bread😋😋Beautiful property and garden. Comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen, (although our son missed his airfryer). Definitely recommend it👍😀👌

Wonderful! Three generations of us all agreed. Jane and Martin are wonderul hosts and so welcoming. We cannot fault anything about our accommodation (spotlessly clean), the standard of the decor and furnishings were just lovely, equipment plentiful, plenty of storage and if we needed anything at all Jane and Martin would simply sort it!The village itself was just warm and welcoming - so between this, their cottage and fantastic hosts, our family came away with some very special memories. A huge variety of places to visit that suited all of our age groups too.The 4 stars for the amenities was just the fact that petrol stations seemed quite scarce in that part of Devon - easy to plan around once you realise though!Would recommend this to absolutely everyone!
