Croyde itself is a popular village with shops, restaurants and pubs. Try out surfing at the surf school on the beach, or take a stroll along the South West Coast Path which meanders through the village and cusps the dramatic coastline of this part of the county. Other nearby beaches worth a visit are Woolacombe or Saunton Sands, both 5 miles, or it’s 10 miles to Ilfracombe. Head inland to Braunton (5 miles) for further shops and restaurants, where you can also access the Tarka Trail, a long-distance and traffic-free walking and cycling route through the county’s beautiful countryside.
