Nearby Instow is an unspoilt seaside village with a large sandy beach and dunes, fishermen’s cottages, village shops and a good selection of pubs and restaurants. A fabulous location that has something for everyone, the area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the famous Tarka Trail. North Devon has wonderful beaches and is well positioned for visits to Exmoor, Dartmoor and North Cornwall. At Croyde and Woolacombe, discover some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor and the South West Coastal Path are located close by and there are NT properties at Arlington and Knighthayes. Shops ½ mile, pub, beach and restaurants approximately ¼ mile.

Wow, what a great find! Very well appointed cottage, like home from home. Lovely welcome pack too, homemade cake, eggs, milk and fresh flowers! Lovely little enclosed garden with patio, bistro set and barbecue. Situated in a great location and within walking distance of nearby Instow, which has 4 pubs/ restaurants. We went to 3 of them, all of which served great food, the only one we didn’t go to was The Wayfarers Inn!There is a bus stop over the road from the cottage, if you didn’t want to walk or drive. The Tarka Trail cycle route is close by too!We’d certainly go back and take our bikes next time!

Lovely cottage with all of the home comforts you could need. Nice welcome cake on arrival. Location was good - easy walk into Instow and across public footpath to the beach. On a main road which was quite busy but some local road closures had increased the traffic flow I think. Super comfortable bed! Garden was secure for the dog and nicely shaded to relax after a busy day exploring. Only downside was no local shop - needed to drive to next village but only 2-3 miles away.

A home from home cosy cottage with all amenities to have a night in or a gentle stroll to Instow to eat out. Off lead dog walks just a few steps away down to the Tarka trail or beach and lots of other walks to try within 30mins drive, a beautiful part of the country. And a private garden to return to and relax in ( weather dependent!) I did wonder whether to sing the Swallows praises or keep this gem hidden to make sure we can return! Thank you for a lovely week x
