Arrived at property, no mesage to say which lodge & how to get in, rang host & got info. Maintenance equipment left on decking , hot tub dirty & had leaves in it. Chunk mising out of door, kitchen not clean, oven dirty, windows filthy in & out, crumbs on floor, water damage to shower in bathroom not maintained, fridge in disrepair, shower broken , decking not maintained, bbq not fit for purpose. no bulb in lounge! Some isues resolved by maintenance. Hot tub bleached a bikini & the level of chlorine gave one of us swollen painful eyes, had to seek medical attention. Also its more like a hot bath than a hot tub as jets were pathetic. Views & surroundings beautiful & tranquil. Such a shame, this property has the potential to be so nice but its just not maintained to a health & safety standard. Nice walk in to the town from the lodge, pubs & food available.

Overall a really lovely stay. Lodges are spacious and in beautiful surroundings, wildlife right on the doorstep and a great base to explore from. We arrived before 8pm, however the site was in darknes and with no one around and no check in instructions, we had to call the helpline who eventually managed to provide a key code. The lodges and site in general are pretty tired and in need of some TLC. The drive from the road to the lodge really needs some attention due to the number and depth of potholes! The lodge itself was mostly clean but dusty in places, and generally needed updating. Still good value for money and nice to get away from it all (no WiFi, TV and phone signal is extremely limited). Lovely to have the hot tub right outside the front door.

If you want to be totally off grid this is the place for you. The location is lovely, minus the potholes, and it was really nice to see all the birds around each morning. The space is great, and this place would be really lovely with a bit of TLC. Theres a blind mising in the kitchen, the TV doesnt work, and overall it felt like it needed a deep clean. Very mixed review on this one, but overall would probably stay again, as it suited our needs. For anyone planning to book, thinking they will just use 5G on their phone, the lodge is a fortres, you can only get a connection outside.
