The Belfry is a 4 star restaurant with luxurious rooms - a boutique gem serving award-winning breakfasts and delicious locally sourced and Fairtrade food. We specialise in Gluten Free Dining for Coeliacs - The Belfry is listed in the Crossed Grain magazine issued by The Coeliac Organisation and by Reflect, a healthy living magazine! Originally a Victorian school, accommodation has been decorated with a slight contemporary flair whilst keeping all the traditional features. The warmest of welcomes, first class hospitality, exceptional food and drink and breathtaking surroundings are all part of The Belfry experience. Brimming with unique charm and character, The Belfry nestles in the heart of the Blackdown Hills aonb between Honiton, Axminster and Chard.

There are six themed guest rooms available, including one super king size, two king size, two double and one twin bedded room. The rooms are superbly equipped with a Samsung flatscreen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, CD player (CDs available to borrow) and white waffle-weave bathrobes. All rooms benefit from having en-suite bathroom facilities. Unfortunately we cannot cater for children under 13 years of age. One double and the twin room are situated on the ground floor. Award-winning locally sourced breakfasts are inclusive in booking, with optional evening meals available in the restaurant. Cuisine is locally sourced and Fairtrade where possible.

Once you arrive in Yarcombe, you will find it hard to imagine a more beautiful place, with it being situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you are an avid walker, cyclist or outdoor enthusiast, you will discover many exciting sites and places within the area, including picturesque villages, valleys and hills. If you want to venture a little further afield, why not visit towns such as Sidmouth, Exmouth and Lyme Regis, which are within easy reach on the south coast. Dartmoor, Plymouth and the mystical Stonehenge are also within an hours drive.

Walkers are warmly welcomed at The Belfry. The building was originally the Yarcombe village school dating back to 1872, a building which was commissioned by the family of Sir Francis Drake. Exceptional in-house restaurant specialising in Gluten Free dining. Extensive fine wine listing and optional evening meals.

Directions to The Belfry at Yarcombe Restaurant and Rooms

From the M5 Southbound, leave the motorway at junction 25 and follow the A358, towards Chard and Ilminster. After 10 miles join the A303 Westbound, towards Honiton. After you cross into the county of Devon and the small section of dual carriageway ends, the road climbs up Ham Hill and there is a bend to the right and a very sharp lefthand bend. The road will level out and at the crossroads junction with the B3170 (signed right to Taunton) turn left signposted (sometimes) Yarcombe 1 mile. This is a single track road, at the end of this there is a T junction and you need to turn left into Yarcombe. The Belfry Country Hotel is immediately after the bend on your right hand side, opposite the church and pub.
