Wonkey Donkey Cottage is a bright and spacious two-bedroom holiday home situated within Stoneleigh Holiday Village nearby to the Regency seaside town of Sidmouth. This property is a superb base for a family of four or a group of friends looking to explore the Donkey Sanctuary which is just a couple of minutes walk away and the nearby Weston Beach and South West coastal footpath are within a 20 minute walk.
This single storey self-catered cottage showcases a beautiful open plan kitchen, dining and living area with two sets of patio doors leading out to the patio area. The kitchen is well-equipped and has a large island worktop which takes centre stage in the room. The dining table provides a great space to enjoy a family meal and the living area is comfortably furnished with two sofas and a Smart TV with Freeview. After a busy day exploring the area, step out onto the patio which has bench seating and a parasol. This outdoor space is a real suntrap and it is a great spot for enjoying your morning coffee whilst planning your adventurous day ahead. As the evening draws to a close, drift off to sleep within one of the two well-presented bedrooms which have been furnished with high quality fogarty bedding and mattresses; the first has a kingsize bed and the other has twin beds. The modern family bathroom is fitted with a shower cubicle, bathtub with a shower head attachment, heated towel rail, toilet and sink.
Wonkey Donkey Cottage is ideal for wildlife enthusiasts and walkers, as it is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a short walk to the Jurassic Coastline where you can take in the beautiful views which stretch for 95 miles with over 185 million years of history. Sidmouth is a beautiful coastal town with a regency feel, ideal for visitors of all ages. Located in the middle of spectacular countryside, it is home to beautiful beaches, stylish places to eat and great local shops. The neighbouring Donkey Sanctuary is open 365 days a year and home to hundreds of donkeys. There are scenic walks, indoor attractions and a new family-friendly restaurant providing a tranquil place to eat and enjoy. The property is also within easy reach of many attractions including the cathedral city of Exeter, Dartmoor National Park, Bicton Park, Crealy Family Adventure Park and World of Country Life at Exmouth. Excellent location, clean, has everything you need in terms of items. Although a few kitchen utensils and a decent frying pan would be a big help.Really enjoyed our time. However , there are 2 big issues.The road leading to the cottage needs desperate attention as has potholes that are deep and could potentially damage your car.NO WIFI. It advertised as WiFi I believe but there is none, no mobile signal(1 bar if you get lucky) It only has EE MiFi which is almost pointless. If you needing to do a bit of work or look up to see where you can go then good luck!Tv picture keeps disappearing and sound stutters. We luckily spend most time out and about but nice to relax in the evening and watch the news but was unbearable as could only get every other word.Can’t stream at all….Patio door very difficult to open and almost impossible to lock…. Needs lubrixating.I don’t want this to appear a bad review as it was a lovely location and would rate cottage as good….. it could have been excellent with a little attention…..
