Don’t forget to check out the wonderful beaches at West Bay, Charmouth, Ringstead Bay and Weymouth while you’re here. The Eastleigh offers next-level holiday accommodation.

Seaton is a seaside town in East Devon on the south coast. It faces onto Lyme Bay, to the west of the mouth of the River Axe with red cliffs to one side and white cliffs on the other. Axmouth and Beer are nearby. A sea wall provides access to the mostly shingle beach stretching for about a mile, and a small harbour. Seaton is on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the town offers a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs.

The good bits :- Property is well situated and the level access from the rear was helpful for some in our party. The property was clean and welcoming. Car Park was nearby. Balcony views are good to sit and watch the world go by but require careful negotiation of simple wooden steps. Seaton itself is not over-commercialised with a stone beach and a few amenities... but trying to get somewhere to eat on Sunday or Monday evening! Good swimming in the sea but there can be strong under-currents at times with a steep drop off so be careful. Plenty to do round and about. The bad bit :- We had a problem with noise from the above property. Both weeks with different people. It is unacceptable, every footstep is magnified like a drum and some people seem to want to walk about their apartments all evening! We expected road noise before we went due to it's central location but there was no mention of noise from above before we arrived and it was written into the visitor book several times, so must be known about. When we raised it with the local agents they seemed to also know about it too. It should be included in the property description, this is not a cheap apartment and this issue should be factored in when booking. I'm sure more could be done in the above apartment to inform visitors of the noise they create or put down some carpet! We also had to have someone out to fix the toilet the first day.

The flat is accessible via a ramp (as it states), it is two separate pieces of metal which you take up and down as you please. OK for me and husband to manage not so sure if we weren't there. Flat is lovely very spacious with a fabulous view. The front balcony isn't accessible unless you are fully able to negotiate small steps and a drop coming back in. The main bathroom shower is tricky to get in if you are elderly as the bath is so high There isn't a rail to hold on to to help access in and out, thereby all 6 of us used the en-suite shower, which again isn't a problem The hob is weak if you have more than two rings on the power seems to deplete on activation of the 3rd ring. The settees are OK, but not really enough seating for all 6 adults to sit at the same time comfortably. The beds are comfortable but the pillows are particularly hard, so take your own if you prefer a softer pillow. The car park is a short walk away, and can get very busy so don't rely on always getting a space. The long stay car park is near Tesco and after a few attempts finally got a week booked in. (We took two cars as travelling with mobility aids) The apartment itself is really lovely with great decor and a lovely feel to it. My review is only to highlight accessibility issues for other elderly/frail guests.
