About this property
Conveniently situated on the border of Dorset and Devon, and close to Somerset also, The Byre is a superbly constructed barn-style property, with outstanding views across the rolling countryside, and nestled within an Area of Outstanding Beauty.
The Byre is situated in glorious countryside, close to the quaint village of Holditch, a hamlet within Thorncombe, and just a short drive away from the bustling market towns of Axminster in Devon, or Beaminster in Dorset.
With an open-plan layout incorporating a cosy sitting area with wood burning stove and sliding glass doors, a spacious dining area, well-equipped kitchen, and underfloor heating throughout. The generous accommodation includes two bedrooms, both able to provide a king-size bed, or they can be configured as twin singles, each having a glazed door leading out to the garden terrace. Bedroom one has an en-suite shower room, and there is a beautiful bathroom next to bedroom two with a feature free-standing bath, and a large separate shower enclosure. The Byre also benefits from a useful entry area incorporating a bench, boot space and cloak area, a washing machine and extra storage.
Outside, there is a paved terrace running the length of the front of the property, where you will find a bench and table and chairs, offering opportunities for relaxing, and alfresco dining, whilst admiring the stunning views across the open countryside. Also at the front of the property you can enjoy a large lawned garden with shrubs.
The popular seaside towns of Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Sidmouth and Seaton are all just a pleasant drive away, and its wonderful location makes The Byre perfect for up to four guests looking to enjoy a memorable family holiday, or a break away with friends.
