Guests say

Thorne Farm Annexe in Exmouth is praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and the friendliness of the hosts. Guests enjoyed the proximity to attractions and the experience of staying on a working farm, with opportunities to see animals. Some concerns were raised about difficulty finding the entrance, road noise, and a non-smart TV, but overall the property provided a pleasant stay.

The property consistently receives high remarks for its cleanliness, with multiple guests noting it as very clean and tidy.

The location is appreciated for its easy access to nearby attractions and the countryside. However, some guests noted difficulty in finding the entrance and traffic noise, which affects the score.

Guests found the property comfortable overall, though one mentioned a discrepancy in heating between living areas and a bedroom. The presence of farm animals added to the comfort for some.

While the property is described as having good facilities, there are mixed comments about maintenance issues such as a drafty window and a non-smart TV. Due to the lack of consistent reviews on other facilities, a definitive score cannot be provided.

The hosts are noted for their thoughtfulness, providing tea, coffee, milk, and even a chocolate egg. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, guests should consider this a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

Exmouth’s 2-mile sandy beach on the Jurassic coastline is a short 8-minute drive away, offering excellent water sports facilities. The beach connects to the South West Coastal Path and the Exe Estuary Cycle Trail, with estuary cruises departing from the dock and charter boats available for fishing trips. From November to February, the Exe Estuary becomes home to around 20,000 migratory birds, and the red sandstone cliffs of Orcombe Point at the eastern end of the beach are designated as the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. For avid hikers, Dartmoor National Park is a mere 40-minute drive away, while the quintessential East Devon coastal towns and villages of Budleigh Salterton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth, and Seaton are easily accessible. Really lovely place to stay. Very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Our 1 year old also enjoyed seeing the animals! Hosts were friendly and helpful and location is great. Easy drive to nearby attractions. Thank you!

Nice stay at the Annex. Host was very friendly and check-in easy. Its on a working farm, (so bare in mind it does have a farm smell around) we enjoyed as it was Easter and we were able to show our baby boy the calfs and lambs. Kind host left us tea, coffee, milk and even a chocolate egg. The property was lovely and clean with good facilities and comfy bed. Not for light sleepers as the main road can be very busy. Great for couples looking for a short stay with close proximity to the beach and countryside.
