The Signal House, an historic former Custom and Excise house, sits in a wonderful position on the top of Beer Head Cliffs, and offers guests a unique opportunity to enjoy a luxury break in a truly special location.
Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this historic and unique former Custom and Excise house, has been thoughtfully transformed, to create a stylish, luxurious and comfortable holiday retreat for up to four guests. Sitting atop Beer Head, and next to its sister property The Lookout Tower, its commanding position and panoramic views ensure a truly memorable escape. Relax on the sunny patio terrace in the summer months, and enjoy alfresco dining or a barbecue, or perhaps just gazing along the coast and out to sea. The cliff top location is remote, and with minimal light pollution, making this the perfect retreat for both amateur and professional star gazers.
The Signal House offers exemplary single-storey accommodation with wide doorways and level access throughout, and convenient ramp access from the parking area to the front door, which is ideal for those with limited mobility. Inside you will find light-filled open-plan day space which includes the contemporary well-equipped kitchen complete with an island, Quooker tap offering boiling and filtered cold water, a Smeg bean to cup coffee machine, and everything you will need to cook and prepare delicious meals and snacks. The feature chimney with wood burning stove forms the heart of the sitting and dining areas, and invites you to 'cosy down' on blustery days watching television or with a good book.
There are two well-appointed bedrooms, a king-size room, and a twin room with zip and link beds (available to be made into a 5' King size bed on request), both with Egyptian cotton bedding, storage for your belongings, and televisions. An accessible wet room and the underfloor heating throughout the accommodation, completes this wonderful holiday retreat.
Secluded, Hooken beach, is just a short 10-minute trek away through a sssi (Site of Specific, Scientific Interest), and the delightful seaside villages of Beer, Branscombe and the town of Seaton are all close by.
Guests can also book The Lookout Tower nearby, subject to availability.
