Guests generally appreciate the peaceful location and well-maintained facilities of the Symphony 2 Hot Tub cottage in Axminster. The local farm shop and pub are highlights, and the on-site swimming pool is a plus. While there are mentions of a few issues, the staff are noted for their prompt and helpful responses, ensuring a pleasant stay.
The lodges are described as very clean and well-equipped, with hot tubs checked and emptied for each customer, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The location is praised for being ideal for both country and coast, with the added convenience of a nearby farm shop and an excellent local pub.
While the lodges are generally found to be comfortable and spacious, there is a mention of uncomfortable, heavy furniture and impractical storage, slightly lowering the comfort score.
Facilities are well-maintained with an on-site swimming pool. However, issues with non-functional appliances and a lack of guidance for their use have impacted this score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Have stayed in Orchard Retreat for 6 times now and really enjoy the peaceful location. Problems are very few and are quickly put right by helpful staff. The location is ideal for country or coast and the local farm shop is close by for all your needs. Local pub is excellent very good food. The on site swimming pool is open all day and all facilities are very well maintained. You will not be disappointed with your breakaway at Andrewshayes.

Fantastic site with excellent accommodation.

While the Symphony VIP Lodge 2 is situated in a beautiful location with scenic decking views and benefits from a peaceful setting, the overall experience fell short of expectations—particularly given its inclusion in the premium Bouja collection, which is marketed as offering a higher standard of luxury and convenience.Upon arrival, helpful instructions were provided for using the caravan and hot tub. However, several essential appliances were either not functioning or missing clear guidance on use. Most notably, the wine cooler—though not listed in the inventory but shown in promotional photos—was not working.Even more inconvenient was the grill, which failed to ignite on the first morning. Without a working grill, preparing a simple cooked breakfast took nearly an hour in the oven. A visit to reception confirmed that the grill was indeed faulty and awaiting a replacement part. This greatly impacted our ability to self-cater, which was a key reason for choosing this lodge.Additional disappointments included the lack of appliance guidance in the welcome handbook (commonly found in similar lodge stays), the impracticality of storing clothes due to a vacuum and stool placed inside the wardrobe, and uncomfortable, heavy furniture—particularly the sofa. The disposal of rubbish also proved inconvenient. Despite the retreat being marketed as a separate, high-end space, guests were required to carry rubbish across the main park daily, which was particularly cumbersome in the hot weather. Our experience inside the Symphony VIP Lodge 2 did not meet the expected Bouja collection standards. Non-functional appliances and basic comfort issues made for a disappointing and disrupted stay.
