Axminster is a small market town in the English counties of Devon and Dorset, just a few miles inland from the Jurassic Coast and within driving distance of the quaint seaside towns of Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seaton, and Beer. Axminster has been known as the "carpet capital of the world" for over 250 years. The town is home to the Axe Valley Wildlife Park, the Axminster Heritage Centre, and the Flamingo swimming pool, among other tourist attractions. Those interested in food and drink can visit the town's many locally owned stores, pubs, and weekly market, or hop in the car for a quick trip to the nearby River Cottage HQ, Lyme Bay Winery, or Millers Farm Shop. WiFi password in the book is typed wrong it’s all lower case. Heating control locked so often too hot or too cold (there is a number to text) we just opened the door or put on a jumper. Strange scratching in the roof late at night. Otherwise well stocked kitchen, some cleaning products, tea/coffee/uht milk sachets, cordless hoover. We had a very nice stay.

Great location for exploring the beautiful local area. The barn was a perfect, cosy size for two of us plus dog. The road, as mentioned on the website prior to booking, is pretty noisy and the barn conversion has a metal roof so it was very toasty. The owners thoughtfully provide fans. All the fixtures and fittings were well maintained and scrupulously clean. Kitchen utensils well stocked. Little doggie paddock a nice touch as it’s enclosed and meant our dog could have a run about.

Very nice friendly owners. Lovely scenery, great coastline and some excellent pubs serving good food.
