This three-bedroom lodge sits in open rural Cornwall, on a development reached by quiet country lanes and almost equidistant between the county's north and south coasts, surrounded by peaceful Cornish countryside. Groups of six that are after a coastal holiday will find surfing beaches, rugged cliff paths, hidden coves and sheltered sailing waters all within reach, alongside slower days spent in the countryside. Stay close to home with the cycling and horse-riding trails that thread through the surrounding fields and lanes. Stithians Lake Activities Centre (2 miles) sits close by for watersports, while the maritime town of Falmouth (9.5 miles) and the narrow streets of St Ives (18.5 miles) are an easy drive away. From either of these seaside spots, join the Southwest Coast Path to explore hidden caves and quiet, secluded coves.

The heart of the lodge is a single open-plan space where the living area and kitchen sit either side of the dining table, so conversation carries from the hob to the sofa. Patio doors along one side open straight onto the south-facing decking, drawing daylight and the view deep into the room. The outlook stays with you whether you are at the table or settled on the sofa with a book. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking family meals, with room to gather around the table when the plates come out. Off the living space, there is a superb king-size bedroom with its own en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The second bedroom is set up as a twin, with the option of a double by arrangement, and the third holds a set of 3ft bunk beds, useful for children or friends sharing. Serving both is the family bathroom, with a shower over the bath and WC.

The decking runs along the south side of the lodge, with space for alfresco dining or sitting out with a drink once the light goes down while enjoying views across the surrounding countryside. The outdoor hot tub is on the deck for your own private use, with open countryside and little else in front of you. Shared with other guests on the development are a wildflower area and a children's play park, both of which are a short distance from the door. Private parking is available at the lodge, and a domestic welcome pack is provided on arrival.
