Enjoying a blend of country and coast, this Cornish cottage is ideal for a family of four seeking a self-catered stay. Park up on the driveaway or in the garage before entering your holiday home; discover the sitting room with a plush sofa to unwind on as the Smart TV does the entertaining. Stepping through the home, locate the contemporary kitchen/diner, with pale grey cupboards and housing an electric oven and hob; when meals are served gather around the dining table to tuck-in. When the sun is shining, head out into the terrace garden, beautifully presented with mature tropical plants, where you can unwind on the decked area with a glass of wine as you savour the setting. As day draws to night, retreat inside, and climb upstairs for a hot shower in the shower room before choosing between a king-size bedroom, a single and a small single. In the morning, get better acquainted with your surroundings and take a scenic car journey to Rock Beach for a long sandy beach, where you can relax with a book or take a swim in the clear water or if that's not for you, tee up at the hilly St Enodoc Golf Club. Visit the small village of Polzeath for excellent surfing conditions and a surf school to get your dream board or venture to Padstow for quirky shops and a selection of restaurants. The fishing village of Port Isaac is also worth visiting, where you can soak in the culture at the Cliffside Gallery, experience fresh seafood with a view and hideaway in the quaint cove of Port Gaverne Beach. Cornwall coast, well equipped, clean and comfortable. However, we were disappointed there was no basic welcome pack on arrival after a long drive. The oven was difficult to operate, despite following the instructions in the folder and the manual. TV was rather small with poor quality picture. Could benefit from a light on the patio, for sitting out in the evenings.

Only because it has been so carefully maintained would I like to mention these few suggestions.1) we never found any wooden spoons/cooking utensils. 2) the saucepans, hiding in a very concealed drawer under the oven were not obvious either and I had to call the company to find them. 3) the decking and fencing in the garden area, while very practical, could be made more attractive, a few colourful flowers, hydrangeas or something, would make all the difference. Equally, if the rear fence was lowered to afford more of a view, I think it would be an improvement. But overall a wonderful find and I would certainly consider a repeat stay.

The location is convenient for either walking or driving to the various beaches and attractions in the area and the facilities in the property are excellent with a high level of cleanliness and comfort. One observation, the street lighting makes the bedrooms very bright so blackout blinds or curtains would make for a better nights sleep.
