Popular but not congested, Tintagel is the site of the mythical King Arthur's Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just beyond the settlement. There are numerous beaches within a short distance, notably Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, and surfing is the main draw for water enthusiasts.
