About this property

Tucked away in the hamlet of Downrow, on the outskirts of Tintagel in Cornwall, is this charming 400-year-old listed barn conversion, Downrow Barn. Enjoying a rural location next to a farm and with easy access to beautiful beaches which are nearby such as Trebarwith, Bossiney Polzeath and Crackington Haven. Boscastle harbour is only a five minute drive away. Downrow Barn is an idyllic pet-friendly dwelling for a couple who are looking to explore Cornwall. Step into the dining room, where you can look forward to long, lazy dinners over a bottle of wine at the dining table. The fully-functioning kitchen provides the perfect setting to whip up your favourite culinary delights, sure to secure your position as the designated chef for the duration of your stay. After a flavourful meal, retire to the sitting room, where you can kick-back and relax on the sofa as your favourite series plays out on the TV. If you’re not ready for the evening to end, why not take your drink of choice out to the private garden, where you can savour the last of the days sunshine and make plans for the adventures ahead. Wash away the day with a refreshing shower, before choosing the well-presented double bedroom to catch your rest in. Take the short drive over to the village of Tintagel, where you will find an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, where you can treat your loved ones to the local culinary delights, perfect for those evenings where you don’t feel like cooking! A wander through the village will find the fascinating Tintagel Old Post Office, where you can peruse Victorian memorabilia in a 14th-century setting. Tintagel - a walking distance away - is not complete without a visit to the remarkable castle, rumoured to be the birthplace of King Arthur, with the sites of Merlin’s Cave and the King’s statue nearby. Boscastle harbour is only a five minute drive away. For the keen amblers in your party, the National Trust Glebe Cliff and the South West Coast Path passes through the village, where you can wander the water’s edge and through the lush countryside. Just a little further is the town of Camelford, where you will find The North Cornwall Museum & Gallery, ideal if you are wanting to learn more about the local area, as well as the Davidstow Airfield and Cornwall War Museum and the Davidstow Airfield Runway. For an unforgettable escape to Cornwall, choose Downrow Barn.

Popular but not congested, Tintagel is the site of the mythical King Arthur's Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just beyond the settlement. Beautiful scenery and breathtaking ocean views may be found in the immediate region. There are numerous beaches within a short distance, notably Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, and surfing is the main draw for water enthusiasts. Many bars and restaurants are available in Tintagel, including the National Trust's Old Post Office.

Raised complaint with Sykes and poor response. Left property after 4 days as terrestrial tv was even unwatchable. Final straw was he arranged to come over the next morning early so we set alarm to be up to meet with him and he didn’t arrive. Considering he only lives next door it was unacceptable.

She loved the garden. Lovely to be in the countryside and still be able to see the sea . A great holiday base ,extremely comfortable and clean . Cannot wait to visit again.

It is sympathetically restored to a high standard, beautifully maintained and with a decent garden too. Has all the mod cons.It is within walking distance of Tintagel, see the Castle and other attractions. Small supermarket there as well, with places to eat in the village. Enjoyed my stay enormously.
