Snaptrip says

Curlews Cottage in Tintagel, Cornwall, offers a quaint stay with lovely views and a convenient location for exploring the area. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and the property's potential, though some updates and attention to detail could enhance the experience. The garden and outdoor seating provide a pleasant space for relaxation.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Several reviews mention a need for deeper cleaning and attention to detail, with specific references to dust, dirt, and a damp issue in one of the bedrooms. However, one guest noted the property was clean upon arrival.

The location is generally praised for its proximity to beaches, Tintagel, and suitability for day trips. However, some guests noted that walking to the beach may require a drive, and the property is on a fast road.

Guests found the main bedroom comfortable and the additional seating areas pleasant. However, some reviews suggest the living space may feel cramped for larger groups, and the beds in some rooms are less comfortable.

The cottage is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, but guests have suggested improvements in maintenance, such as updating decor, fixing loose cupboard doors, and addressing the shower setup. The presence of a DVD player and storage heaters are noted, but clearer instructions would be beneficial.

While guests mentioned receiving cookies, which could be seen as a thoughtful gesture, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtfulness in the reviews to provide a score. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

About this property

Curlews is a spacious, semi-detached house close to the village of Tintagel and ideally based for exploring this majestic stretch of Cornish Coastline. Couples and families can enjoy the friendly interior and rural views that this North Cornwall abode provides. Arranged over four floors you will find the practical, well-equipped kitchen and comfortable dining room with warming electric fireplace and sofa on the ground floor. Open tread stairs lead down to the lower ground floor where there is a relaxing sitting room with French windows to a decked sun terrace. Also on this lower floor is a shower room perfectly placed for washing sandy bodies after a day on the nearby beach.

Stairs lead up from the ground floor to two bedroom, a double with valley views and a twin. A bathroom with basin is also on this floor and behind a sliding door a WC. Further stairs lead up to the second floor and a twin room under the eaves.

Located just over a mile from the stunning sandy surf beach of Trebarwith Strand and the coast path and less than 2 miles from historic Tintagel there is lots to explore close by. Picturesque coastal villages of Boscastle, Port Isaac and Crackington Haven are all well worth a visit. Curlews is a wonderful homely base to return to after a day of exploring at any time of year.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water.

Not really suitable to walk to the beach without a drive, but plenty of lovely beaches nearby.
