About this property

Nestled in the charming coastal village of Tintagel in Cornwall, is this spacious two-bedroom bungalow, Badgers Sett. Enjoying a fabulous location just moments away from a wealth of beautiful beaches and rocky coves, Badgers Sett is a fantastic dwelling for a couple or family of four. Ample off-road parking greets you upon arrival before you step into your new home away from home. Look forward to whipping up culinary delights in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy dishwasher for fuss-free clean-ups, ready to enjoy at the dining table for four over a celebratory bottle of fizz. After dinner, why not challenge your loved ones to a game of pool or table tennis in the games room with a multi-games table, or indulge in a dip in the wood fired hot tub out in the rear enclosed garden? As the evening cools, retire to the sitting room where you can kick back and relax on the sofas as you select your favourite series from the TV as the evening’s entertainment. After a day spent on the beach, wash off sandy toes in the walk-in shower, before wrapping yourself in a toasty towel, courtesy of the heated towel rail. When sleep calls, choose from two large and well-appointed bedrooms to catch your rest in, both with plenty of storage for your belongings. Wander into the local village, where you will find a delightful selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes to try, including the Ye Olde Malthouse Inn, The Olive Garden and King Arthur’s Café, ideal for when you fancy a break from the kitchen. Key attractions to visit in the village include the National Trust site of Tintagel Old Post Office set within a 14th-century cottage, the fascinating ruins of Tintagel Castle, Tintagel Castle Bridge, and the renowned Merlin’s Cave with the nearby statue of King Arthur. Keen walkers will delight at the easy access to the scenic South West Coast Path where you can expect to see some of the best sites and scenery in the area, including the National Trust site of Glebe Cliffs. On the outskirts of the village, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy wildlife rich walks through the woodlands and discover the stunning 60-ft St Nectan’s Glen Waterfall. Pack up your bathing suits, swimming trunks and towels and head straight for Bossiney Cove, where you can paddle the shores, try your hand at the local’s favourite sport of surfing, or bathe on the golden sands with your favourite book. Continue to Camelford, where you can brush up on your local history at The North Cornwall Museum & Gallery, Boscastle, home to The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, or Wadebridge where keen cyclists can access the Camel Trail. Further afield you can enjoy the delights of the stunning Bodmin Moor and the popular Eden Project, sure to be a hit with your loved ones! Escape to Cornwall with a stay at Badgers Sett.

Although Tintagel is a famous tourist site, the cliffside ruins of King Arthur's Castle can be found just beyond the settlement. The area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves, and breathtaking scenery. Surfing is the main draw for people who enjoy the water, and several beaches, including adjacent Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are easily accessible. A must-see in Tintagel is the Old Post Office, a National Trust property.

easy walk to village and coast . cottage is so clean and beautifully decorated. pool table fantastic as is the log burner . only small negatives are no laundry facilities and initial supply of logs for fire not more. hot tub not available and prob wouldnt have used it due to faff of burning a lot of logs and stirring the water with paddle etc .for max use of 15 mins each time..overall , really really beautiful place .ideally situated to facilities. would use cottage again. had a lovely holiday. especially the pool table and games selections.!

The games room/dining room was a winner with all the family as were the many board games which we enjoyed playing next to the log burner

The games, especially pool and table-tennis, were much appreciated. Very well-equipped kitchen. Helpful and pleasant owners. Good for visiting lots of places, including Tintagel and St Nectan's Glen (both easy walking distance), Port Isaac, the Cornwall at War museum and Trerice. Can also recommend the Screech Owl Sanctuary. My caveats would be that we gave up on the hot tub; just couldn't get the fire to take. This was disappointing, because the tub was one of the main reasons we booked Badger's Sett. Also, the shower has very low pressure. I had to wash my hair in the kitchen sink, which was a right old palaver and isn't ideal. It's something to be aware of if, like me, you have long or thick hair! Lastly, and I think this was just unlucky, temperatures dropped while we were staying and I did feel cold some of the time, especially in the mornings. We were wary of trying to adjust the room thermostats because although the owners said it was OK, the notes ask guests not to..
