The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

We particularly loved the trifold doors which brought the outside in with access to the large outside dinning area. The wetsuit room with the dog shower was a real bonus as was the large laundry room. Minor point the tumble dryer function on the washing machine is not brilliant so another drying rack would have been useful. All the bedrooms were comfortably decorated with excellent en-suite facilities. The house had a homely feel with an eclectic mix of furniture. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed and we were able to cook delicious meals for 7. Perfect seaside home we loved it.

On a more practical level - for us it was a shame the upper parking was not at all accessible to us as there were extensive works happening on the retaining wall, we were warned of this but it did make unloading and reloading a challenge with 2 children, one under 2. There was no information left for us on recycling or bin days so we couldn't leave it out even though we used the appropriate bags provided at the property. Also there were no linen bags provided so we had to leave the bedding and towels in the kitchen area on our departure. Other than that it was a lovely stay and the views and beach proximity were outstanding, we have loved Polzeath for years and for sure will return again without a doubt. Just little more information provided in the property would help and perhaps a little welcome pack of tea/coffee essentials on arrival would be nice especially as the cost is nothing to be sniffed at!
