About this property

This aptly named, three-bedroom, duplex, penthouse sits idyllically above Porthminster Beach, at Peninsula Apartments, in St Ives, benefiting from uninterrupted views of St Ives Bay from its living area and private decked balcony, the pretty harbour, town centre shops and St Ives scenic railway all within a short walk.

Sleeping six, plus an infant, this pet friendly escape offers the ultimate base for the whole family, including the four-legged members, to gather for a holiday to St Ives.

A spacious open plan living area showcases stunning views across the bay to St Ives harbour and island, through floor to ceiling windows and doors, so you can enjoy this wonderful Cornish vista while cooking, dining, or relaxing and direct access to a private seaward south facing balcony, slide them open and breathe in the fresh sea air, let the natural light flood in and light up the walnut flooring, laid throughout this bright and airy space, styled with contemporary furnishings to comfortably seat six including a large modular sofa, arranged with coffee table for guests to enjoy the views, or the 40” Panasonic HD smart television, alternatively step onto your large private decked area, with a glass of wine and soak up the breath-taking views from the harbour across the bay to Gwithian.

The kitchen/diner is positioned within the open plan living space to enjoy its superb sea views, ideal for entertaining and socialising with guests when preparing meals, a dining table with seating to comfortably seat six offers a fabulous setting for dining in, alternatively the balcony offers an alfresco option, a large breakfast bar with three leather bar stools is a great spot to sit and chat to the chef, the contemporary kitchen with soft close units, black granite worktops and splash backs is well-appointed with everything needed for your stay, a utility cupboard in the hallway houses a washer/dryer.

A separate den, located off the ground floor hallway, offers an intimate space to escape for some time away from the group, there is a 32″ television and guests old and young will enjoy gaming on the PS3 with dual controllers.

Choose from three comfortable super-king sized bedrooms, two on the top floor and one ground floor room, the first both benefit from a private en-suite, and the latter is conveniently next to the family bathroom, the master, seaward facing, top floor, room enjoys views of the town and beach through galleried windows and a fabulous double ended scallop freestanding bath to relax in, this room, along with the ground floor one, is fitted with a super-king bed as standard, which can be arranged as a twin on request, all are well presented with sumptuously dressed beds in Egyptian Cotton and offer ample storage space.

The family bathroom, located off the hallway next to the ground floor bedroom, offers a great space to enjoy a refreshing rainfall shower after coming off the beach.

Positioned above Porthminster Beach and benefiting from stunning views across St Ives Bay to St Ives harbour, town and island, the private seaward facing terrace, accessed from the living area, is idyllic for dining alfresco or enjoying drinks in the sun, enjoy a seat at the rattan table with four matching chairs, or lie back on either of the two rattan sun loungers and make the most of the fresh Cornish air and sun.

A Michelin Plate restaurant is set right on the beach below, Porthminster Beach Café is perfect if you love dining out and foodies will find St Ives plethora of cafes and restaurants, supplied with fresh sea food daily via its working harbour, a joy, if you love art then browse the local galleries and boutiques dotted along its pretty cobbled streets, or view an exhibition at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, to see how the town has inspired many famous artists.

Many of St Ives larger beaches have dog restrictions, due to their award-winning crystal-clear waters, so to enjoy a wonderful stretch of sandy beach with your pooch, venture out along the South West Coast Path, which heads to Zenor and the year-round pet friendly Porthkidney Beach in the other direction, for a relaxing return journey hop aboard the scenic railway, this follows a similar route to the cliffside walk, with stunning sea views all the way.

For an exciting day out head to the rugged North Cornish coast to search for where King Arthur was conceived, according to Legend, at Tintagel Castle, walk high above a tropical rainforest on a canopy walk way, suspended above trees, at the Eden Project, near St Austell or venture out on a man-made causeway of granite setts, at low tide, to the majestic St Michaels Mount, near Penzance, the kids will love the rides at Flambards in Helston, or Camel Creek Adventure Park, near Wadebridge, or feeding the animals at Paradise Park near Hayle.

Well situated to enjoy all that St Ives has to offer, with an idyllic setting above one of its most popular beaches, our view of Porthminster View, is its one you’ll want to share with loved ones again and again.

St. Ives, one of Cornwall's most charming harbour towns, is home to the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum, as well as wonderful beaches, outstanding shops, a vibrant community of artists, fantastic pubs and restaurants, and more. It is simple to understand why this is the county's top vacation destination with its semi-bohemian lifestyle and romantic atmosphere. There is a lot to see and do in the neighbourhood, including easy access to the Celtic secrets of the Land's End Peninsula, fantastic coastal hikes, world-class surfing, and an abundance of wildlife. A wonderful location!

The furnishings & equipment were excellent…just the odd picky niggle, however the view made up for any odd niggle. The position in relation to the town was fantastic…just a short walk, as was the access to the beach for early morning dog walking. Yes the small up stairs bedroom would benefit from a TV… Any queries we had were answered quickly, with 3 couples from different parts of the World, we could have done with a second parking space, but as we were only there for 4 nights, then the parking opposite wasn’t too expensive. Thank you very much, would certainly like to stay there again.

The apartment is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, but best of all are the views and convenience of the town and beaches.
