Everything went smoothly. Obtained key from keysafe without hassle, though it took me a few moments to understand how the front door locks and unlocks. Both blinds in my first-floor bedroom were somewhat broken, so either permanently open or permanently closed. (Once I had closed them, I left them that way. ) Generally, though, the property was well presented and equipped, and ideal for six adults. Being in the grounds of the Tregenna Castle estate is a bonus and we ate there one evening. It’s 20 minutes or less to walk to town or beach (though a steep slope down in the latter case). We found it easy to get taxis — even 6-seaters. The buses from town back up the hill are also useful. Ask for the Cornish Arms stop, which is just past the Tregenna entrance.

A great house and really nice location within the grounds of the castle. For the price, there were aspects of the property that needed some tlc due to usual wear and tear but it did detract a bit from the wow factor and feeling of value for Money. Also, some of the activities were not available to us due to the property not being managed by the castle itself and the time of year we visited, which was not made clear to us when booking. Overall a pleasant place to stay and handy for everything you would need in St Ives.
