Nearby St Ives, the seaside hamlet of Carbis Bay is well renowned for its stunning stretch of white sandy beach. The beach has a subtropical feel to it thanks to the turquoise water and the shady setting, making it ideal for a relaxing day at the shore. Ocean Sports Center is located on beach, so if sunbathing isn't your thing, why not rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard and get out on the ocean instead. Treat yourself to a spa day at the boutique hotel that overlooks the beach and has a lovely patio where cocktails may be sipped in the Cornish weather. Carbis Bay is home to a handful of small businesses and eateries, as well as a fish-and-chip takeaway and a railway branchline that serve the community. The rail ride from Carbis Bay to St Ives is one of the most stunning in the country.
