About this property

Located a short walk away from the harbour of Port Isaac is Caelum, a homely detached bungalow. With room for up to six guests, Caelum makes a great base for a family who want to enjoy the local attractions and beaches, or for a group of adults looking to walk or cycle North Cornwall’s coastline. Park up on the driveway and open the front door to find a kitchen/diner with modern units, plenty of space for cooking, and a dining table to accommodate six people. The spacious sitting room has a choice of two sofas and a chair to relax in, just what you need on return from another fantastic adventure. Freshen up down the hallway in the family bathroom, with a handy cloakroom with a basin and WC too. Two bedrooms can be found at the end of hallway; one is a twin room and the other is a family room containing a double bed and bunk beds, ideal for anyone with young children. Head outside to find a pretty, lawned garden with a picnic bench – perfect for al-fresco dining or enjoying something to drink in the evening. Just a short stroll into the heart of Port Isaac will give you access to lots of pretty shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as coastal footpaths to explore. Neighbouring Port Gaverne has lots of hidden coves that you can discover from kayaking, or for those who prefer dry land, simply explore the coast via the South West Coast Path. Tintagel is within easy reach with its imposing castle, picturesque statue of King Arthur on the cliff edge, and Merlin’s Cove. Enjoy a trip to the delightful Padstow, embarking on a Padstow Sea Safari and taking a walk to nearby Stepper Point for some amazing coastal scenery from the watch station open to the public. Tucked away in a quiet spot on the Cornish coast, Caelum is a great base for your next holiday.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

We had a wonderful week there and found the bungalow to be clean, warm and spacious and there was always plenty of hot water. We would certainly recommend the property. Perhaps the bathroom could be updated at some time to provide a "b" shaped bath with screen for a shower.

The bungalow was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was well maintained and looked to have been recently redecorated. The location is perfect as it's in a quiet cul de sac but only a short walk to the village centre with its harbour, shops, cafes and restaurants and of course all the locations from Doc Martin! Port Gaverne is also in walking distance and it's just a short drive to Tintagel, Padstow, Rock and many other places. There is a well stocked co-op just round the corner and we found the kitchen well equipped with many pots and pans and utensils so we could easily self-cater. We really enjoyed the garden complete with picnic bench and sea views, perfect for my morning coffee! The Wifi was excellent, useful as phone signal is sketchy in Cornwall, and with 3 TVs in the property we were able to enjoy streaming a movie or 2 in the evening. We would certainly revisit and would recommend this property to others.
