About this property

The Piggery is a delightful, ground floor barn conversion settled in the rural hamlet of Treneague on the edge of the village of St Stephen. Finished in a contemporary style, the property offers accommodation for couples, a small family or it can be booked with the property next door (The Corn Store, ref 1050481) for larger groups. Its central location makes it a great touring base for exploring the north and south coasts of Cornwall, with the popular Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan less than half an hour’s drive. Step into the entrance hallway and follow the slate flooring to the living/dining room, appointed with a plush leather sofa where you can unwind after a day of walking, along with a dining table for mealtimes and wall-mounted flat screen TV for entertainment. Move into the kitchen to find all the necessities for a weekend away, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and even a dishwasher so you don’t have to worry about washing up! The neutrally decorated bedrooms consist of a double room and a twin room, complete with wooden flooring and ample storage for your personal items, while the bathroom houses a roll-top bath and walk-in shower, so you can decide how best to prepare for the day. On warmer days, take advantage of the lawn and patio area with seating, offering a peaceful area to enjoy a glass of wine whilst the children roam the grassy areas making it the perfect spot, as it offers privacy and safety. There is also off-road parking for two cars. The village of St Stephen is small but offers handy amenities such as a pub, fish and chip shop and a supermarket for picking up any essentials. Just 2 miles away you will find a great shopping complex at Kingsley Village and for a wider selection of amenities, head to the neighbouring town of St Austell which boasts a wealth of shopping, restaurants, supermarkets and historic attractions. Walkers will be awe of the surrounding area with many walking trails and cycling routes cutting through the beautiful Cornish landscapes towards St Austell, home to the famous Cornish attractions including The Lost Gardens of Heligan, widely considered as one of the finest gardens in the country. Plan a day out to one of Cornwall’s sandy beaches, with Perranporth and Duporth being your closet options, while a little further afield is the quaint Polperro Heritage Coast where you can stumble across hidden coves, charming villages and picturesque harbours. Newquay is another must-visit location, home to award-winning beaches and activities for all the family, including Newquay Zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium. Choose The Piggery as your restful base for a memorable retreat to the centre of Cornwall. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1050481, together they sleep 8 people.

Resting four miles west of St Austell and close to the River Fal lies the rural village of St Stephen. It had everything we needed and was well presented , clean and cosy while providing all the space we needed. Great location providing easy access to many places. The outdoor space was perfect for our dog who had a great time. We would love to come back again . Many Thanks

Excellent position for exploring Cornwall, peaceful setting despite proximity to A30. Owner very helpful and allowed me to top up my electric car as local public chargers out of order. Loved our time at the Piggery

Ideal location between the North and South Coast for a day trip on either side. Andrew and Lisa were great hosts.
