About this property

Nestled down a quiet lane in the hamlet of Pentewan is this spacious, converted cottage, Vi’s Valley View. Set over two floors, this welcoming abode is suitable for a family or group of friends looking to experience this peaceful corner of Cornwall. After a day of rambling the coastline, look forward to catching up on some TV in the sitting room, accompanied with an open fire for a calming ambiance. Allow the designated chef to get to know the kitchen, home to a range of appliances, while the separate dining room offers a lovely setting for mealtimes. If the weather is nice, why not head out into the courtyard with a disposable barbecue? After toasting to a long-awaited break and tucking into supper, load up the dishwasher before catching the last of the evening sun in the peaceful front garden overlooking the valley. As the night falls, move upstairs to find two double bedrooms; the master features a spacious en-suite bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. When you’re ready to explore, about a 6-minute walk away lies the wonderful Pentewan beach, an adventure playground among bathers and a firm favourite among watersport enthusiasts since it is so large that it rarely gets crowded. You can find spectacular dog-friendly beaches nearby, including Gorran Haven, Vault Beach and Par Sands. Be sure to explore the Pentewan Valley Trail, a 4 km in land road-free path through the stunning woodland, and the scenic coastal footpath which spans in either direction over rugged cliff tops and secret coves. Hop in the car and head to St Austell, a bustling town home to many attractions including the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, where you may learn about the town’s past, the Pinetum Gardens and many glorious beaches; slightly further afield lies the famous Eden Project! There’s plenty to enjoy while holidaying at Vi's Valley View whatever time of year.

The charming coastal village of Pentewan is set back from the wide stretch of sand that makes up Pentewan Beach. Visitors come from all around to the village shop and bar, and the beach is kid-friendly. The settlement is traversed by the coastal walk, which offers stunning views of the bay and Devon in the distance as it ascends the cliffside towards Mevagissey. The community is near some excellent bike trails, a nice river for anglers, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the historic and picturesque Charlestown Harbour, and a few other attractions. The Eden Project is easily accessible and well worth a visit, and the surrounding maritime village of Mevagissey offers many eateries and fresh harbour fish.

Everything has been thought about kitchen very well stocked, lounge super cozy, Bedrooms very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. Even thought about our pooches with dog biscuits and pooh bags, even down to supplying some old towels in case they needed them. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

He stated that another cleaner would be arriving within the hour to make the second bed up with linen and drop off clean towels, however, we did not get the bedding until 21:45 that night after pestering someone called Chris via WhatsApp who told us that there had been issues all day with stock, we then had to make the bed up ourselves. We had a long tiring drive and all we wanted was to get some sleep. The clean towels did not arrive until the next day, so we had to use old towels we found in one of the bedrooms that were labeled for emergency and use with dogs... this is not really acceptable, but we did eventually enjoy our stay.

It is in a quiet yet convenient location for the coast, shops and nice local pub. We loved the quirky feel of the cottage and attention to detail. We loved having both a living room and dining room plus separate kitchen and the spacious bedrooms, there was ample storage space. The stair to the bedrooms is a bit tight but we got used to it. We would consider returning to this special place!
