Alyson
The local pub was in walking distance with great food and welcoming locals. However, Brea Cottage needs some tlc urgently. The bathroom door is broken so could never be shut. The locks are failing on the doors resulting in us being unable to lock the back door for fear of it failing all together. The beds are very uncomfortable and the mattresses need replacing. I noticed a large orange manky piece of sponge laid on top on the double mattress! The tv remote is broken. I bought new batteries to try and it still wouldnât work. The kitchen work surface is swollen with water as it hasnât been sealed so smells damp. Brea Cottage has so much potential but it just needs a little work spending on it and some tlc. I would love to come and stay again, my back just needs a new mattress installing first!

Good base for exploring West (proper) Cornwall. Train to St Ives, walk to St Michael's Mount, Penzance, Hayle... Mount's Bay and St Ives' Bay; two wonders of the world. Cottage facilities good, clean and tidy. Dog happy, teenager happy, all good.
