In addition to the local sites of interest, many of Cornwall’s best attractions are easily accessible by car and include, the Eden Project, Newquay, Falmouth, Porthleven, St Michael’s Mount, Lizard, Lands End, Minack Theatre, Sculpture Gardens, Heligan and several National Trust properties. The towns of St Ives and Penzance, with their art galleries, restaurants and quaint harbours are 10 miles away, while the beaches of both the North famous for surfing and South coast can be reached by car. While travelling south to St Ives, head to Tate St Ives, a recommended stop for art fans, or Barbara Hepworth’s Sculpture Garden. A bus stop just around the corner makes all of West Cornwall accessible for those who prefer to leave the car behind. Or for those looking to soak in the sea air, the coastal path can be found at Basset's Cove and affords breath-taking sea vistas from the cliff-top; Tehidy Golf Club also lies nearby so be sure to pack your clubs! Illogan is a small, former tin-mining village located 2 miles from the sea and the magnificent beach at Portreath. It is nestled among fields and open farmland just south of Camborne. The beaches on the North and South Coasts may be reached in a matter of minutes by car.
