About this property

Brockenhurst is a two-bedroom holiday home resting in the quaint village of St Day, Cornwall. This open-plan property is close to a cluster of amenities to make your self-catered stay a breeze and is ideal for a family of four looking for a Cornish retreat. Leave your vehicle in the off-road parking space before climbing a couple of steps onto the wraparound decking; here you can enjoy a cup of tea in the morning sunshine. Patio doors lead into the bright and airy living space, with a compact kitchen area hosting an oven, gas hob and combi microwave to prepare heart-warming meals. Settle down at the dining table to chatter about the day's adventures or unwind on the decking with a cold beverage in hand. As the evening cools, retire inside and sprawl on the sofa as the gas fire gently heats the room and the TV entertains. After an action-packed day, have a quick wash in the shower room before choosing between two charming bedrooms, a double with an en-suite WC and a twin bedroom. A short stroll will lead you to St Day Inn for home-cooked meals and local ales whilst the St Day General Store offers all the essentials for your self-catered stay. Visit the fishing port of Portreath, home to a variety of attractions, including Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill, Feadon Wildlife and Education Centre, and Axe Heads Cornwall - Axe Throwing. The ancient city of Truro is also worth a trip, hosting the magnificent Truro Cathedral, as well as Victoria Gardens and the Royal Cornwall Museum. Venture further afield to the village of St Ives, where you can take a stroll down to the harbour and watch the boats come in, or tour one of our many museums and art galleries. Attractions include the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, and of course, the stunning St Ives Harbour. For a getaway like no other, choose Brockenhurst. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1095293, together sleeping up to 8 guests.

St Day was previously the mining capital of mid-Cornwall until adjacent Redruth took over, and the terraces of granite cottages built for the miners may still be seen. The settlement was named after a little-known saint named Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village presently features a pub and a convenience shop, as well as a granite gothic-style church from 1828. The beautiful village of Portreath is six miles away, and its wild and rugged coastline attracts visitors from all over the world.
