About this property

An elegant cottage apartment in the heart of Mousehole, which boasts outdoor space and harbour views - the ultimate coastal getaway. This pearl of a retreat in the heart of iconic Mousehole is made with style and little romance in mind whilst offering spacious & elegant comfort. From the bed made for long lie-ins to the gorgeous bathtub, you're guaranteed utter relaxation here. The stunning kitchen revels in vintage style and out back there's a veranda for balmy summer evenings watching the glittering sea. From the moment you step through Amarrah's front door, a warm and gentle welcome greets you. This is a ground floor cottage apartment with a generous hallway leading you into the open plan living area. You'll find Cornish stone walls, white wooden flooring, exposed metal columns and two huge sofas so you can have one each (although you might prefer to snuggle up on just the one...). A huge chest makes for a perfect coffee table and there's a TV should you want a movie night in, plus a desk area for working if you need to check up on some emails. Pretty vintage pieces complete the look along with furs, blankets and the plushest of cushions. The beautifully bespoke open-plan kitchen is just perfect, fully equipped with modern appliances yet elegantly vintage in presentation. The grey cabinets hold all you need for your home from home, Belfast sink and a huge oven and hob for rustling up a feast or two (maybe cooking some local seafood, bought that day from Newlyn). You may prefer to take it outside and enjoy alfresco dining, although the hypnotic sea view can be enjoyed whilst dining indoor as well. As you would expect for such a romantic retreat, the bedroom is totally dreamy in colours of white and soft greys, with an eye-catching feather lightshade, shabby chic furniture with elegant silver highlights and stripped white wooden flooring. The original art work and the softness of the cushions and fur throws ensure It is so comfortable, and pretty, we’re pretty sure you won't want to leave. The bathroom at Amarrah Mousehole is truly stunning - entered via a small dressing room, this bathroom has a lovely bath tub for two with fabulous brass flower head shower and an antique dresser with wash hand basin on top. An ideal spot to soak after a day out exploring, the palest of pink walls offer a warm and soothing haven. There’s a lovely terrace at the rear of Amarrah, tucked between the surrounding cottages. With a large sofa, table and footstool you have everything on hand for a spot of Al fresco dining, whilst enjoying the pretty flowers and foliage. Pour yourself a glass of Prosecco (or two), lean back and watch boats dart back and forth in front of you - utter bliss. Whilst parking is not available at Amarrah, it is usually possible to do a bag drop at the bottom of Commercial Road and carry your bags to the cottage. You will then park the car in either of the quayside car parks which are a few moments' walk away and there is also a larger car park at the entrance to the village as well. Lying between Penzance and Land’s End, Mousehole is one of the most iconic fishing villages in Cornwall. Hugging the coastline and protected by Raginnis Hill, it’s also one of the oldest with parts of the harbour wall dating back to the twelfth century. Today the village maintains its olde-worlde charm, with narrow cobbled streets, slate roofs, whitewashed cottages and brightly coloured paint work. It’s perfect for foodies with a good selection of restaurants, cafés and delis, and is of course just a hop, skip and a jump to the world-famous fishing village of Newlyn, then onto the ancient market town of Penzance. The horseshoe beach is nicely protected by harbour walls which almost meet - literally the mouse hole - creating a perfect spot for soaking up the Cornish sun - it's a real sun trap! There's plenty going on throughout the year here, but perhaps the most famous are the harbour lights at Christmas when hundreds of people come to see the spectacular display. Amarrah is a beautiful cottage which can be enjoyed throughout the year.

A delightful fishing village nestled on a hillside and spilling down to the shore. The harbour, surrounded by its maze of winding narrow streets, draws visitors from miles around, while in the distance St Michael's Mount stands proudly in the centre of Mounts Bay. A fabulous coastline and miles of walking characterise the area, with seabirds, seals and wild headlands leading just around the corner to Land's End. The Minack cliff-top theatre is a few miles along the coast, while reminders of the region's ancient past in the form of Dolmens and standing stones appear everywhere. St Ives, with its stunning beaches, beautiful harbour and narrow winding streets is just 12 miles away.
